About Your Artisan
Hi, I’m Kennie Shirey!
I am a retired police officer who served 30 years at the Elk City Police Department. I understand the importance of community, and appreciated the opportunity to protect and serve Elk City.
However, post retirement, I wanted to continue to give back to my community and beyond. I’ve taken up woodworking to provide people with unique pieces that they can be proud to own.
I began my woodworking journey in my high school woodshop class. I built several furniture pieces including a cedar chest that I still own. Needless to say, I discovered I had a knack for the craft.
In the 80s, I began working for my father in law building cabinets at Adams Cabinets. He taught me a lot about what I know today and is still my go-to person for questions.
Now that I’ve retired, I felt it was time to sell my creations. I hope you find a piece you love and can treasure for years.

We like to source our wood from local sawmills, acquiring a unique variety of hardwood.
We have the privilege of finding exotic pieces from different suppliers.

Our standard cutting boards are 12″ x 12″ x 1″ or 24″ x 12″ x 1″, and each has a unique pattern and design. You can purchase a pre-made board or customize one of your own.
Custom Creations
While we may consider cutting boards our specialty, we offer so much more! We are open to most any woodworking project. You name it, we’ll try it!
